KATAHDIN REGION – Millinocket Regional Hospital, working in partnership with Katahdin region schools, is hosting a Pfizer vaccine clinic for children ages five to 11 on Nov. 19, said MRH Infection Preventionist Todd Phillips, RN, BSN, MPH.
Schools in Millinocket, East Millinocket, Medway, Kingman, Stacyville and Dyer Brook will all participate.
For those who cannot make the Nov. 19 clinic there will be another one on Saturday, Nov. 20 in the Schenck High School Auditorium from 9 a.m. to noon.
Phillips said there are no appointments necessary and “it’s a great chance to get your child, or children, fully vaccinated by Christmas.”
He added that parents unsure about the vaccine can come to the clinic and speak with local medical professionals and get their questions answered. Phillips said he is also available to speak with anyone. Phillips has long said that the way out of the pandemic is getting everyone vaccinated and is excited to be able to offer this opportunity to some of the youngest members of the region.
“We are so excited to be able to provide these vaccination opportunities to the children of our region,” Phillips said. “The timing is great in that now young children have a chance to be fully vaccinated for Christmas.”
