Physical Therapists are persons who work in the profession of physical therapy assisting people with regaining their overall mobility post general injury, traumatic head injury, a vascular accident such as a stroke or aneurysm, post-surgery, poor postural alignment and lymphedema.
We utilize exercises to include strengthening and stretching, gait/balance training, different types of soft tissue mobilization, aquatic therapies, and modalities like heat, ice, electric stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, iontophoresis, and biofeedback. The treatments help to decrease pain, increase strength, improve mobility, improve safety, and increase independence with activities of daily living.
We treat patients of all ages and from all walks of life. Millinocket Regional Hospital has several Physical Therapists on staff available for both inpatient and outpatient care.
